Here are a few sample from this week-end assignement. I had been asked to take some pictures of the play, so here are the one that turned out best. The play was about the letters between Victor Hugo and Victor Schoelcher, during the reign of Napoleon.
The fact that almost all the play was on the narrative side helped me to get some in focus picture. Moreover, the light wasn't as bad as I had imagined, so I could get away with my 200mm F3,5 Vivitar manual focus lense.

This last week was kind of full, on the photographic side. I had to do some portraits of actors, for them to build up a file, in order to get some funds. The session was quite difficult, given that the only light I could use was a crappy flashgun, which can only be bounced up... And to add with it, I had to do all the portraits without a proper baground (Ie. no plain colour background).
The thing that I really enjoyed when taking these picure was the fact that the people are actors. So they have some kind of bursting energy, and give some expressions that I didn't expect.
For example, I had discussed with the guy on the right of the picture (with the blue sweat), and I really didn't know how it would turn out. In the end, I think he was the only completly unstressed, with the more natural looking expression.
The location of the portraits was the ICP (Catholic institute of Paris), so I managed to find a quite confined place, in order to have enough light from the bounced flash. The results are really under my standards, but I'll show some here, to show what can be done with very little equipement.

today I'll poste a few pictures of my first project, which subject was the cityscapes in the south east suburbs of Paris. what interested me was the fact that despite there are a lot of people living there, there's hardly any crowd, or any packed streets, even on events like garage sales, or in the sunday market.
this picture shows my view on today's society : we are lost on one big worlwide supermarket.
t
the presence of a single person in every picture was a choice, to express my actual feelings.
A lot of pictures taken during this period (2009-2010) try to convey this feeling.

I thought I'd go through some of my "sport" pictures, and see if there wasn't any I'd like to post here.
So here is a few sample of my sport photography from 2010.
This one is certainly the first skateboarding picture I do like.
It shows my friend renaud, performing a backside smith grind on a dirty iron curb, in the MIN
of Rungis.
One of the reason I involved myself into photography was to keep a link with the skateboarding activity, having broken my ankle a few month before.

Ok it didn't last long...
But on the other hand, because most of my work is made on film, I won't have a lot to post here anyway.
So to keep a bit uptated, here are two pictures from my last portrait session, wich was also my first.
Even if I think that I spend to much time fidling with the lights, we (me and the model) didn't saw the time past.
First I had planned to take pictures during an hour, in order to keep some boundaries. It lasted almost 2 hours.
The light setup was made of two light sources, one main at 45° (or something lake that) above on the model's right side, ans a key light on the other side.
In the last hour, I changed the setup, and placed the key light along the main, and made the model turn a quarter away from the lights. Like this I could have a better light on her hairs, and i was easier to get the angle I wanted.
