And it is still there !

I can't believe that this blog is still there, on the internet, after so long. And what's even more crazy, is that I can write straight to it, without any issue.

So, now that I am here, what do I do?

Maybe a recap of what happened during all this time? and a lot happened actually. I grew a bit, some wars broke out, some love happened, failed then happened again. I stepped away from photography, came back, stepped away again. that's life.

Now I take photos of squirrel.

Back again

I know It's been a while since I wrote anything here, but you know, I think that sometimes taking some distances with the internet and Hyper communication and stuff is a good things.

here are a few pictures retracing what happened during the last month :

taken with X10, my first step toward a simplification of my gear. neat camera, with a review under way!

Paris, near the Hotel Dieux. Nikon D200, 35mm
Street performers, Cachan. Nikon D200 with 180f2,8

Paris, D200 with 35mm. PArt of a project on tourists in paris.
 Paris, D200 with 35mm
 Cachan, D200 with 35mm
Paris, Montparnass,  D200 with 35mm
 Gentilly, D200 and 35mm.
And finally a test shot of a nikon D1 with the 35mm. The D1 was the FIRST digital camera made by Nikon, and was the game changer between the use of film and digital for working pros. A review is underway, 12 years after its commercialisation!

Hey there,

to go with the protest pictures, here are some from last weekend.
there is not much to be said about the reason of the protest, because
I think that it was more a way to gather people around the left wing
candidate than to protest against a clear think.

But this sort of absence of "aim" didn't stopped me from taking
pictures, far from it ! as a matter of facts, I filled my 4 gigs card and almost filled the 2 gigs card.

So now I must purchase new cards...

 here are the pictures :

I'm back!

Hi there, i know it's been a while since
I did write something down there.
As a mater of fact, It has been a while
since I took any digital picture at all.

I've tried to do anly analog photography
for a while, but after all, it seem that
i cannot stick to one kind of equipement for too long.

So guess what? here are new pictures!
lately I've at last found where the demonstration
registered on the web, so I can go there
and take pictures more often.

The following are about a demonstration
that took place a week ago. I found it while browsing
demonstration for the 10-11 of March and found it.
It was against the nuclear activity in france.

With the tragical events that happened in japan about
a year ago, the revendication against nuclear have been
more radical : now it is about stoping all nuclear activity.
The other topic for wich peoople where demonstrating
was to proteest against the very frequent passage of trains
carrying radioactives wastes across Paris suburbs, using
the SNCF or the RATP trains on infrastructures and pathes
designed for people. To cut it short, it is possible that all
the railstations and the place where these trains
went (and are going, every day), are now irradiated
to some extent.
(and I am not talking about the irradiation state of the railworker in theses area).

Here are some pictures of the quite small demonstration,
(we where about two hundreds).

There where kids n the front, wearing these suits.
It made me think that if we had a nuclear incident in
France, we would have to wear these to, all our life.
This is what our children might look in the future.

I focused on portraits, using a tele lense (an old 75-240 to tell you all)

I saw the superposition of the panel in the background
and the paper in the foreground, and waited to have a clear view on the guy.

A bystander. It is what I love the most : people watching, stoping themselves in their life, to watch what's happening.

samedi 24 septembre 2011

it's been almost a month since I posted something here.
Actually I didn't take any picture I really liked, I guess photography is like averything,
it comes and goes.

there are a few picture from my walk on friday, in the parc de sceaux.

I already went there, and told myself that it was too much crowded to my tastes. I mean, I went during
the week end, so this explains the crowd...

During the week it's a totally different place. I now understand why it is one of the greatest parks in France.

It's so quiet that at the turn of a corner, you may meet with a squirrel, crossing the road!!

taken in a bosquet, were people actually wait for the squirrel. The best feeling is when you stop moving, sit and hear the sounds of the little animals jumping in the dead leaves. Priceless!!

Way to the otherland

hi there folks!

I've just wondered about the way people can understand
this blog name. It came after a talk with a friend of mine,
who told me "your universe is quite interesting". So this blog is
a walk throught my universe.

But in the same time, I began doing street photography,
leaving the "abstractual streetscape" aside. so It was no
"otherland" anymore.

My new goal is to keep with this theme : I'll focus more and more
on this side of my photography, in order to bring out what I feel about the
places I live in.

some new goals!!!

I haven't posted anything recently, mainly because I shoot much more
film thant digital at this point. The reason is quite simple : I am preparing an
exposition with the photoclub, and I want my pictures to be analog only.

But during the same time, I have discovered that an organisation called " "did manage a
photo contest. So, having just two weeks to take picture of the theme, which is the
biodiversity in the town, I have decided to go with digital.

So today was the first day of this project, and even if I could walk the city blindfolded,
I managed to get a few pictures which are really fitting the theme.

I am using only prime lense, a 35mm and a 85mm, both on a D200.

And it is still there !

I can't believe that this blog is still there, on the internet, after so long. And what's even more crazy, is that I can write stra...
